Tips for writing your secondary application Share Share via TwitterShare via FacebookShare via Google PlusShare via LinkedInShare via E-mail Many schools will require you to submit a secondary (sometimes called supplemental) application, directly to the school, along with a supplemental application fee. Most schools will ask you to write additional essays. The secondary essays give you a chance to explain why you think you are a good fit for each individual school. To complete your secondary essays, you will need to be very familiar with each of the schools on your list. Ask yourselfWhy do you think you are a good fit for each school? Is it because of certain programs they offer or their approach to teaching the studienplan? You should understand each schools educational mission and be able to explain how your strengths are in line with the schools mission. For example, some schools are parteicularly focused on producing the next generation of leaders in their field. Others are committed to producing healthcare professionals who will reach out to the underserved. Your comments in the secondary essays should focus on how you have developed strengths in the areas that are most important to each particular school. You should complete your secondary applications within two to three weeks of receiving them. If you take longer, the schools may get the impression that you are not seriously interested in them.(Note Secondary applications are part of the reason why you should not apply to too many schools Completing the secondary applications thoughtfully and carefully takes time.)CategoriesHealth Professions
